The "A" Tournament consisted of 5 teams, with the lone WVC team (Seton Catholic) playing against and defeating Mid Valley in a play-in game. From there is became an all Catholic school tournament.
Bishop O'Hara won the tournament under the guidance of Coach Jack Lyons and the talents of John Kranick, Jim Kane, and Fred Siebecker. The championship game went into double-overtime as Coach Lyons defeated his old coach and alma-mater, Jerry Burke's Bishop Hannan. The Golden Lancers were led by Marty Jacoby, Bob Crofton, and Gerard Walsh. The first overtime was scoreless, but after Gerard Walsh fouled out half way through the second overtime, the Bruins took control and won the contest.
In the semifinals, Bishop Hannan defeated Seton Catholic and Bishop O'Hara defeated Bishop Klonowski.
